Gabi
To the core, I am a first-generation Canadian of Italian descent, and my multicultural background has played a significant role in shaping who I am today. I grew up in Toronto, Ontario, and I attended an all-French school and spent a lot of time with my cousins and grandparents.
My passion for sports runs deep; I've participated in softball teams and ventured into boxing, parkour, basketball, skiing, and even skydiving! At the age of 40, I accomplished my very first front flip, proving that there’s no stopping me now. I fully embrace my quirks and consider myself wonderfully weird. I’m unafraid to be my authentic self, even if it means losing those who don’t appreciate that about me. You could say I prefer to live my life drama-free—except when I’m at Comic-Con events, of course! Courageous and always ready for a challenge, I dream of traveling the world as a full-time job, although my heart will always belong to Italy.
After high school, I dedicated nearly a decade to climbing the corporate ladder at the Royal Bank of Canada, juggling a full-time position while also working part-time to support my ambitions.
In 2017 I became a massage therapist specializing in 5 different techniques and in December of 2020, i became certified in heath coaching by the The Institute of Integrative Nutrition. I was both thrilled and overwhelmed by the wealth of knowledge I was gaining. In fact, I couldn’t wait to share it all with everyone. Everyone should know what I know!
Yanni
You’d never guess it, but Yanni is quite the introvert, usually staying in the shadows 99% of the time. He’s a true “gamer” at heart, has an impressive obsession with Dragon Ball manga, which keeps him young at heart. His loyalty is fierce, and his work ethic is unmatched. When he supports you, he truly makes you feel like you’re the center of the universe. Time and again, he shines with kindness and dependability, showcasing a level of integrity that earns him respect from everyone around him.
Yanni's list of achievements is nothing short of amazing. He’s trained in martial arts at a Shaolin Temple in China, raced Formula 1600 cars for ten years, authored three fantasy novels, and contributed in reaching and setting record highs in his family business - all by the age of 30! Starting at just 17, he joined the family business and transformed it into what his father always dreamed it could be, even devising a smart program to boost their profits! However, the weight of stress and the burden of his family’s financial security took a toll on him.
But through all the ups and downs, Yanni stands out as one of the most remarkable individuals I’ve ever known—and without a doubt, my favorite!
How it started
Yanni and I met in a way that echoes Sandy and Johnny’s iconic first encounter in Grease—on a sweltering summer night! Our journey began in Miami 17 years ago, and it was truly love at first sight! We navigated a healthy long-distance relationship before finally tying the knot in 2011. Just 10 months later, we welcomed our son, Tristan, completing our family of three. Our tale feels like a fairytale, or at least it seems that way. Yet, even the luckiest of us face our share of setbacks and heartbreak. Throughout our 14 incredible years of marriage, we've found that our bond has only strengthened, particularly when we hit rock bottom together, supporting each other through the tough times. It’s a curiosity that has connected us in ways words can’t fully express. We’re immensely grateful for each other and are eager to share the curiosity mindset we’ve nurtured with others!
